"As usual, Barbara Taylor Bradford provides us with a gripping - if not particularly realistic plot. Changing her name to M, a young girl moves to New York to start a new life after a devastating experience in the UK. Typical of Barbara Taylor Bradford's heroines, she falls on her feet and soon begins to make it as a model; being selected as the new face of a Parisian fashion house. At the same time, she attends a party with two friends and instantly falls head over heels in love with a famous actor whom she remembers having a crush on when she was a child. (See what I mean about the plot?) There is some sort of secret about her background, which she eventually shares with actor, Larry for special reasons - but not with us until we get half way through the book! Who is this mysterious family; who are the sisters that she refers to - the one that she calls `Birdie' and her eldest sister who taught her so much about fashion and style?
